Muhammad Ali said, “I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’
As far as developing and changing your body towards health, this is one of my favorite quotes.
“There are 2 types of pain…the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. Which one will you choose?”
It exemplifies the truth; when you’re trying to change your body, whether it’s regaining health, reversing the effects of Metabolic Syndrome, learning a new skill, changing bad habits, gaining muscle, or losing fat there is going to be pain involved or made to feel uncomfortable. You are learning to be a champion of your own health!
I don’t care what anyone says, any lifestyle change is going to take effort and hurt – in the short term. There are no short cuts and there are no ways around this. Change hurts. Changing a diet makes us uncomfortable! Cutting carbs is a changing sacrifice (at first). Any fitness training hurts. Trying to learn a new skill makes me uncomfortable.
However, what is the alternative? What would cause a life of regret?
* A life of being ill?
* A life of where you’re unhappy with yourself?
* A life of being at an unhealthy weight?
* A life where you KNOW you could be doing better?
* A life of having to take more and more medications to manage your health?
* A life of settling?
* A life of limited movement – pain in the joints?
* A life of spending more and more time in the doctors’ offices?
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – The pain of regret can be lasting. It is like ‘ throwing in the towel.’
The Pain of Discipline is empowering!
Do you remember the first week – the first month – the first couple of months? You experienced joy because of the results from your discipline, the ‘effect’ from the ’cause,’ all of a sudden that pain starts to transform into pleasure. You start taking joy in the discipline, because you know what the pain of discipline is going to help you accomplish in the end.
Was it really about the scale moving down – or… was it MORE than that?
Ideal Health NOW is NOT about a diet – Dieting is temporary!
Ideal Health NOW is about lifestyle change to keep optimal health! We use the Ideal Protein diet as a training tool to help you gain health and train you to change your diet for true lifestyle change.
Allowing yourself to learn a healthy lifestyle of eating is a discipline that strengthens your discipline muscle. In the end you’re able to experience more out of this life. You get to experience more depth, more joy, more happiness, and more feelings of being content. A feeling of being a champion in your arena of life. That is empowering – true success!
Learning to love discipline will allow you to experience a much higher quality of life than being some emotional weakling that runs away anytime something make us uncomfortable. Discipline is a muscle. It must be worked out to become strengthened, for the purpose of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- The main thing you’re going to have to ask yourself is whether or not pain now (discipline) is better than pain later (regret).
- The pain of regret is one that eats away at you mentally and spiritually. You lose yourself as a person if you have too many regrets.
But if you’re willing to suffer the pain of discipline and learn healthy eating habits – the exact opposite happens – you find yourself as a person. You find out what you are capable of achieving for yourself and those around you whom you serve.
We pray you use Ideal Health NOW to grow and learn a better dietary lifestyle that enjoys and maintains a healthy eating plan and continues to grow the pain of discipline that builds you up to win in life.
