2013 Integrative Healthcare Symposium
Let me just say….my brain was on overload by Saturday at the end of classes….. Whew! On February 27 – March 2nd – Dr Chandler and I attended the 2013 Integrative Healthcare Symposium. This medical conference not only presented science based research for doctors, practitioners, nurses, nutritionist, and others for their continuing education credits, but also the specialists presenting the updated medical information are names known throughout the medical community.
AND – our hearts and resolve to make a difference in the health of those who walk through the door of Ideal Health NOW is stronger than ever.
Dr Chandler and I will be writing & presenting information of what we learned at this symposium and how it affects you!
Check out the classes we took and the future Blog posts….
Multiple Specialists gave detailed presentations and the # 1 takeaway is – –
That we are in the age of chronic health conditions such as ….high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, heart disease and age related degenerative health issues… AND …. These issues are reducing our life expectancy and reducing our quality of life as we age.
According to a recent New England Journal of Medicine article (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15784668),
These health issues can be prevented, managed, and perhaps even reversed – bottom line…. “the majority” of these illnesses can be prevented”
At Ideal Health NOW – we are # 1 about your optimal health as it relates to Metabolic Syndrome or helping you regain Hormone Balance. And guess what? A # 2 benefit is you will shed unwanted fat.
* It is NOT about losing weight on the scale
* It is NOT about the Ideal Protein product
- It IS… about following an evidence based program to rest the pancreas and STOP insulin surges in the body
- It IS …about growing and learning about nutrition so YOU can change your LIFESTYLE to improve your health
If you believe it is about the scale and the Ideal Protein product – ( the 1st two bullet points listed above ) –
You will slide back into UNHEALTHY EATING HABITS
- Begin the inflammatory response in your body
- Produce Insulin surges in the body
- Repress other Hormones in the body – including the Serotonin and Dopamine – leading to depression
- Accelerate Chronic aging issues – such as Alzheimer’s’, Incontinence, arthritis, etc…
- Begin – Chronic health issues such as high cholesterol, hypertension, hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia, uric acid, PCOS, diabetes, etc…
You MUST EDUCATE AND CHANGE YOUR belief system to know and understand – that it really is about YOU CHANGING YOUR LIFESTYLE TO IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH OR CONTINUE YOUR HEALTH MAINTENANCE or you will go backwards with your health.
Kay Chandler MD has devoted her life to serving women and babies for a great many years as an OB/GYN doctor.
DR Chandler is equally concerned with the whole health of each person and not only does she eagerly desire to continue treating women’s health issues as a GYN doctor, she truly wants to help the maximum amount people realize their optimal health by addressing the root causes of impaired metabolism.
Ideal Health NOW’s focus is to continue to use an Integrative approach – and begin to move towards a model of Functional Medicine – using the Ideal Protein diet, individualized future nutritional plans that focus on Lifestyle Maintenance and preventing health issues, Bio-Identical Hormones using different types of Lab-testing techniques to diagnose Hormone Imbalances, and using a prescribed combination of bio-identical medical supplements.
Why would I use the term ‘Functional Medicine?’ – What is Functional Medicine? We will save this topic for another blog.
