80% results with 80% effort?
It’s natural to think that this principle works with weight loss.
Maybe I’m not focused enough to be doing 100% of the work, but I’ll still get 50% of the results for the 50% effort I’m putting out, right?
Wrong! Weight Loss does not work that way!
How does that math work out in the real world?
Actually – it doesn’t
I can’t think of a single thing, activity, sport, job, or relationship that works under the 50 – 50 % principle… or even the 80 % principle.
If you have had shoulder surgery or know someone who had had shoulder surgery – the surgeon will prescribed Physical Therapy to regain full range of motion for the injured shoulder.
You agree because you want full recovery – full range of motion – and a full life NOT a limited life.
You and your PT want to work the shoulder to its limit, but after a short while of working; you become uncomfortable, it is hard work, it is taking your time from other things you could be doing, and it is painful.
At that point … Are you going to tell yourself, “It’s OK, I don’t mind if I only get half the results from my shoulder right now? I am just going to ease off a bit and put in half the work.”
You have now decided to only work 5o% and be satisfied with the 50% limited range of motion in your shoulder, your activities in life will be limited to the ability of your shoulder and …. You will NOT regain full recovery to the shoulder.

Self-sabotage is a big problem for dieters, because they often aren’t aware that they are sabotaging themselves. They often feel as if their struggles are caused solely by outside influences, but deep down inside, they are the ones that are causing the conflicts.

Every time you try to eat healthful meals or take good care of yourself, an inner part of you >>> digs in his or her heels and says, “No, I don’t want to change my habits. I like my habits just the way they are.”
When you started program and lost quite a significant amount of weight – you believed that the program was right for you and believed – IT WORKS!
Did the program change? – NO
